Christmas

Two Sundays before Christmas, our church had an annual Christmas program that the children put together for the congregation. I got Eva ready for the day in her Christmas dress, fixed her hair, put on her shoes, and you know what she said? Same thing she always says. "I'm going to show my daddy!". She ran right to him and said, "See me, daddy?!" while twirling around her dress. It's such an amazing sight to see a little girl with her daddy. No one has ever told Eva to twirl her dress for her daddy. It's just built into the heart of a little girl. Thank you, God, for being that Daddy who always looks down and says, "Yes, I see you and you are beautiful!".

Thankfully I had my camera ready to catch the moment:

I didn't wear a dress or twirl for Jesse, but here's a mommy/daughter photo just for fun!

Eva being 2 wasn't given much of a role in the Christmas program. Basically, the 2 year old's come in after the program is over and sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. It's adorable. The 2s never sing, but it's adorable. It's especially adorable when one of the 2 year old's not singing happens to be yours. I was able to capture this adorable moment (which thankfully never included tears or dress lifting!!!) with a bad video - sorry - but you should be able to tell which one is Eva :)

We had our first Colorado Christmas as a family. It was such a precious time for the three of us! Jesse and I agreed that it couldn't have been more peaceful and uniting as a family. We really enjoyed lots of snuggles and extra time together! And tons and tons of Christmas books and songs! Eva is now passionate about Christmas songs and "away in a mangers", which is what she calls a nativity scene. Nativity is a hard word to say. She still sings most of the songs she learned. Aaaadorable. Yes, in February. Jesse and I agreed it might get a bit annoying by summertime. In the meantime, we couldn't help but get a video of Eva singing her favorites. It happened to be a fun night to catch her singing all of them as she was in an especially silly mood. So as you watch, know that she doesn't normally sing Christmas songs and run in circles. It's a one-time special.

Winter Fun

Well, so much for blogging during the fall... never got around to documenting our adventures. And if I don't hurry, the winter will be long behind us! So, I am going to attempt to catch up on some winter activity we've had before baby comes. Since my body likes to hold onto the joy of pregnancy as long as possible, I am confident I will have time :) Eva and I were able to take advantage of the first big Colorado snowfall. Despite the look on her face, she was really excited to play in the snow - honestly!

I attempted to show Eva how to make a snow angel, but that didn't go over well...
It was just a body print. We'll try again some other time, I guess :)

Our favorite part was making a snowman! It was Eva's first snowman making experience.

Snowman kisses!!

After we were satisfied with the end result, I looked back and noticed a striking resemblance our snowman had to... Can you guess? Do you see it?

"Eeeevaaaaaa" (Using the voice of Wall-E) Now do you see it?

 Off with her head!!

Time for some hot cocoa!!
 Yum!
